Prime Example

This rented villa in Grey Lynn had a neglected and overgrown back garden. After an on-site meeting and survey, a landscape concept plan was drawn up and presented to the client. Taking cues from the existing plants and materials of brick, basalt rock, and timber, we redefined the spaces to create an intimate circular lawn, a subtropical fruit grove, and layered plantings of native and tropical plants for privacy and interest.
The spectacular views to the Waitakere Ranges were revealed by removing an over mature stand of pittosporums. Bamboo ‘Alphonse’ was replanted along the boundary and will eventually provide a dense screen. It also complements the Balinese statuary which is placed throughout the garden. The pavers are Pastelli honed pavers by Horizon International.
The two centre bottom photos of the collage are before shots, the rest taken after 6 months. It will be great to watch this garden mature, and we visit quarterly to undertake maintenance.
